”Adonis...." "ADONIS!!!" "Adonis-“ Three very commonly used phrases that Adonis hears all the time. She's not surprised at all, and simply rolls her eyes when anyone reprimands her. They all know that anything they say will never get to her head. After all, she is a prime example of “curiosity killed the cat”. Known for experimenting with various things, regardless of the consequences. She was also crafty and sly, much like a fox, easily getting past a lot of defenses that the older gaolers put up.


"Adonis, what have you-" Her mother groans, yanking Adonis away from the cauldron where a brew stirs. Adonis merely peers up, her brown eyes wide, innocent-looking save for a slight gleam in the corner that seems to radiate a curious but mischievous intent. "Listen, you're pretty as you are, there is no need for you to change your colors.." Her mother calmly speaks to her, rubbing Adonis’ talons with her own. “B-but it's too purple.." Adonis gestures to her coloring, gorgeous shades of light and dark purple. She sounds meek, ever the perfect child who would never get in trouble. It’s all an act, and Adonis' mother know this. Adonis, still blinking ever so innocently stares up at her mother, who sighs, knowing that she will never be able to convince Adonis to stop any experiment of hers. “Alright, but don’t say I didn’t warn you when unwanted results occur..” Adonis proceeds to jump in glee, eagerly returning to her post right beside the cauldron, staring down into the swirling liquid, a bright gleam in her eyes.

All that can be heard is shriek then wailing, then a bolt of purple and green? GREEN? fur running past them all. “Adonis!” All of those who just watched the youngster streak past them call out. But she’s too far. Her mother steps forward “I’ll get her” she states, before following the path that Adonis took. “Adonis? Are you ok?” She carefully pushes open the door to Adonis’ quarters. “Oh mother! I should’ve listened to you this time..” Adonis has her paws over her eyes, talons digging into her now partially green fur. She’s shaking slightly, small shudders and sobs coming from her frame, curled up into a ball. “Oh honey..” Her mother tries to approach, but Adonis shoves her away. “Please don’t..I-I’d-“ Adonis’ voice breaks, and she turns around, away from her mother. Adonis’ mother’s eyes glisten slightly, before she turns away, knowing the ache that must reside within Adonis.

No one, absolutely no one will ever like me. Look at this hideous shade of green that I- I dyed onto myself. Adonis’ thoughts are depressing, constantly berating herself. Her parents linger around her door, but never daring to knock, knowing that Adonis will most likely want to spend the rest of her days alone. So there she stays, until someone-
