Mordaine

The Matriarch, Thagwynn, had two prominent reactions when Kepler first arrived from the Starfall Isles. First, she was excited to commence the study of astronomy within her clan, but second, and what worried her the most, was potential repercussions from his birthclan. Her first instinct was to create a research facility high on the Reedcleft Ascent that was secluded from the public, but both her Consort, Orbitol, and her hatch-friend, Goliath, advised against it. They eventually convinced her that if Kepler remained in the public eye, known by all, he would be safer and less vulnerable to conspiracy or sabotage.

So the Reedcleft Ascent was abandoned and Goliath and Letourneau re-designed the Wind Surfer Training Center, located high in the central eye of the Twisting Crescendo, adding upper floors to house an obervatory and weather station. The results exceeded their expectations, for the Grand Opening, which was attended by the entire clan, also brought guests from Pan's Brewpub & Inn. The following day, a warrior named Mordaine, on holiday from the Tangled Wood, came to the Matriarch petitioning for clan membership.

Orbitol recognized the situation at once. "This could not be better! Mordaine was on Search and yesterday he found his Charge. I suspect it is Kepler."
