Francis was found stranded on the beach of the Ashfall Wastes, kicked out by his previous line of work as a blacksmith apprentice for being 'too lazy'. When he saw the crimson and black ship turn into the harbor, he frantically came to Rey's feet to beg her to take him along... he couldn't stand being in the blistering heat for so long. Rey had taken pity on the coatl, but he just barely proves his worth. Francis is often found snoozing on the deck, enjoying the breeze and sun on his back. When work is to be done, however, he does manage to at least convince himself to help out... if not for just Rey's sake.
