One day, amidst the blackened, scorched land of the Emberglow Hearth, a rock awoke.

Slowly it stretched. Its wings unfurled. Runes of glowing embers sparkled on its sides. Its scales were formed of hot coals. Onyx eyes opened.

That rock was Citrine.

The other dragons found her coiled around an egg in a nest not her own. Citrine had sensed the egg growing cold. She wrapped herself around it and warmed it with the warmth of her heart's flame.

No one knows how Citrine came to be - but since she awakened, she has tended to the fire flight's nests. She cares for and nurtures all of the eggs. She keeps them healthy, and watches proudly as they hatch.
