Evergreen is a fixer. A tinkerer. When she was first told to make a clock she jury-rigged all the pieces together into a machine that spoke stories every forty-five minutes. When she was told to make a signpost she cobbled together wood and paint and spells into a hovering sculpture that sung poetry and could only be heard on certain roads at midnight. Shunned for her reimaginings, Evergreen left home and wandered until she found a lair that would become the Outpost.

At first alone, she filled the lair with trash, treasures, and odd and ends. She built strange and beautiful devices that divested stories in every way possible. Then new dragons began showing up. Heartland was the first and Evergreen taught him a new way to live by making words from the pain of his past. Others followed. Evergreen took them all in and found she was good at tinkering with fellow wanderers who, for one reason or another, did not fit in anywhere else.
As time goes on Evergreen continues to watch over the dragons who come and go from the Outpost. Not all are destined to stay. Those that do find the Outpost to be a place of noise, creation, and peaceful energy. Those who leave take a piece of the Outpost and everyone in it with them to the far reaches of the world and everywhere between. And there is always space for those who wish to return.
