Biography

ELwJ639.png
IGNATIUS
Hive Resistance Warrior
BUOHXJB.png
With Ragnarok, the leader of one of the largest organizations to fight against the scourge of the Hivemind, and his mate Liberty, a former drone freed from the hive's clutches by Ragnarok, came a new generation of rebels to fight for their cause. Inheriting the best of their parents' abilities, the children of the two sanguine freedom fighters would become legendary.

Though they weren't forced into their roles as freedom fighters against the Hivemind, most of the leaders' children chose the path that would make their parents proud - even if it was dangerous, even if the stakes were high, they wished to do all they could to protect the dragons of Sornieth and prevent any others from falling to assimilation like their parents nearly had.
Trained by their mother in the art of magic, the children would excel in ranged combat - better fit for taking drones down from afar where they're unable to fire any binding fluid. They're more skilled in the art of Fire magic, having hatched in the Ashfall Waste. Though their mother excelled in Light magic as opposed to Fire magic, the children could adapt her spells to the element of Fire instead. She taught them to be cunning and quick - think quicker than the consciousness, and you'll make it out alive.

As they were trained by their mother, their father trained them in the art of the sword and how to channel magic through their weapons. With his teachings, he knew his children would be safe when combat became up close and personal with vile drones. Using the aid of magic, their blades would gracefully cleave through carapace and bone, just like their dearest father out on the front lines. He taught them to be bold and strong - fear and panic in the heat of a raid would lead to mistakes, or worse, death. However, Ragnarok has nothing but faith in his children's ability to survive and prosper.

Now that their children have grown, it's time for them to set up resistance branches of their own...

53419497_350.png Ignatius

• always brags about his parents (especially his father)
• quotes his dad a lot to the point that everyone else in the resistance can too
• is really good at both fire and light magic and claims to be the best of his siblings, but who knows
• if he was in DND he would be a neutral good paladin
• absolutely HATES getting wet
• though he has a bit too much pride, he’s actually a pretty good guy at heart
• he’s really strong, probably the strongest in the resistance, but not as strong as the CONSCIOUSNESS or GROVE, at least not on his own
• he’s pansexual with a female preference

Born in a clutch of five, Ignatius constantly had to fight for the attention of his parents. Being born only 10 minutes away from the runt of the litter made his slightly older littermates look down on him, but luckily, he possessed something they didn’t have. Unlike the rest of them, Ignatius was born with flying sparks shaped like fireflies which danced around him and enhanced his already great magical prowess. This gift gave him the opportunity to rise above his siblings and become especially close to his mother, who shared a similar talent whereas his father bonded more to that of his older siblings.

Somewhere along the line, Ignatius developed a large ego due to his mother’s greater interest in him and somehow convinced himself that he was stronger than any of his other siblings, though his oldest sister Adara could likely beat him in close combat with ease. Despite his massive, only partially justified, opinion of his self, the sanguine dragon still has a good heart. He cares about he works around him, though when DRONEs emerge he shoes no sympathy. The skydancer also has a bit of a temper, but it’s only truly unleashed when someone insults him or his parents.

When Ignatius stumbled upon the HIVE Resistance in Lunarechoes, he was at first very eager. The HIVE here was quite small compared to some of the ones he had taken down with his family. However, the mage soon discovered that what the HIVE lacked in size it made up for in huge, twisted monstrosities that made even the toughest DRONEs look like insects. However, he has taken up a leadership role within this resistance and continues to support them, despite the overwhelming odds against them. Whether the skydancer is doing this out of the good in his heart or simply to impress his parents remains unknown, but based on his refusal to call for backup, it may be the latter.

A Rebel’s Choice

The sanguine skydancer ran quickly through the tangled woods of the Shrieking Wilds, his heart racing with excitement. After months of training, his parents, powerful resistance fighters, had finally agreed to let him go out and and liberate his first hive. Ignatius stopped and tilted his head, his body filled with an unnatural chill. He glanced around apprehensively, then slowly summoned sparks of fire to shield himself from any ambushers. The ill feeling eased and he heard a sigh of relief from above.

”See, Wy? He isn’t a DRONE. No drone would have magic like that.” A peculiar, but beautifu, sapphire skydancer leaped down from a tree and grinned. She appeared like a DRONE, other than the intelligence in her eyes and the glowing magic that filled her instead of assimilation liquid. On her shoulder, a ball of radioactive, rainbow goo gurgled and took the form of a Fae. It glared menacingly at Ignatius and flicked its tail. The skydancer shook her head at the gooey creature and turned to the sanguine fire mage. “Wyvern says you reek of prey- I mean DRONE flesh, but you don’t look like one too me. Too much intelligence in your eyes.”

The tension in Ignatius’s body eased and he smiled slightly. “I was going to say the same thing about you, but now I’m more curious about something else. If you’re not a DRONE, who, or what, are you?”

“I’d answer that if I knew myself. I’m a DRONE, I suppose, but one with a broken code. My mind can’t connect to the wavelengths properly and worse, I feel emotions. Though, my father had the same glitch, in a way. Now it’s your turn, stranger. Who or what are you, and what is your knowledge of the HIVE?”

Ignatius puffed his chest proudly. “I’m a resistance fighter. My mother was an ex-DRONE and my father is the famous HIVE liberator, Ragnarok himself!”

The sapphire dragon tilted her head in reply. “Never heard of him. Then again, I didn’t know there were other resistance groups either. I know that there’s some other HIVEs out there for now, but I never imagined this. What are you doing here? Are you here to help us destroy the HIVE?”

The skydancer grinned. ”That’s my duty. I’ll help you. You don’t seem to know much about other HIVEs, I suppose you’re is quite small then. An easy feat for someone like me.

The sapphire skydancer shook a little with what Ignatius assumes was fear. The radioactive beast on her shoulder snarled in a voice to match its broken appearance. “It’s not that large, yes. But the CONSCIOUSNESS....he is twisted. He has a lust for power unlike anything I have read about. He seeks a twisted form of perfection and mutates what few DRONEs he has into disgusting monsters who crave destruction.... I suppose you’ve heard of GENESIS models?”[/i

“Of course. He has one of those?”

“Yes, but more than that. Imagine a Wildclaw the size of a genesis model covered in the toxic and dangerous flora and fauna. A behemoth of a creature which seeks to turn other creatures into hollow shells filled with wildlife. A creature whose children can rot flesh and mutate DRONEs with their mere presence. A beast whose sentience rivals that of a CONSCIOUSNESS, yet is over run with a primitive hunger. We call it GROVE, but it calls itself perfection. We had a resistance of nearly 100 dragons. Now we have less than a tenth of that. This is no HIVE like you’ve seen. It is the playground of a mad CONSCIOUSNESS who will stop at nothing to have the whole world, HIVEs and clans alike, under his control. Now tell me again, will you still help us?”

Ignatius swallowed hard. He had been hoping to crush a small HIVE and display the head of its CONSCIOUSNESS to his parents with pride. Something this dangerous, was he ready? The glint in the other dragon’s eyes showed that what she spoke was true, or at least she believed it was. He flashed back to his father’s words as he told his children the tales of his raids. The HIVE is a scourge upon dragonkind and we must join together to fight it! The fire dragon met the eyes of the ex-DRONE and held back his fear. This is for you, mother an father... he thought as he opened his jaw and said those fateful words:

“I’m in.”
