Fugen

Fugen was born in the earth flight to a miner merchant duo as parents. His father worked in the few still bountiful mines in the Terraclae, digging up precious ores and gemstones, while his mother sold them in a booth in the Colonnades of Antiquity, while also venturing to the Trading Post during special occasions.

When he was younger, he helped his mother at the booth, where he picked up many different merchandising and marketing skills from her. When he grew older, he also joined his father within the mines some days gathering ores and gems.

One day, Fugen accompanied his mother on a trip to the Trading Post, where he met a small clan of metalworkers from the fire flight. He was instantly amazed at how these dragons turned these simple bits of ore into amazing weapons and armor. Fugen really wanted to try and make some with himself, and asked the clan if they would be willing to take him as an apprentice. They offered to take him back with them to their home within the fire flight for a few seasons if he was genuinely interested. He went back home to discuss it with his family before taking them up on the offer. He traveled to the clan's home within the fire flight and stayed with them for 6 seasons, learning their skills in the metalworking field, becoming surprisingly skilled within the field. The clan offered him a permanent place within their ranks, but he politely declined.

He went back home to the earth flight, and started up his own metalworking workshop and shop within the Colonnades. He still went on mining trips with his father frequently, using the ores he gathered to smelt and forge into his wares. He quickly became the most well-known battle gear shop within the earth flight, with many high-ranking clans and warriors commissioning him to make custom pieces.

However, there was one day where a monstrous beast known as the Tunnel Hydra took up home within an area of the Terraclae, attacking a group of miners who were working there, his father among them. Fugen wanted to go after the beast, but he knew despite his overwhelming strength, he had hardly any actual battle training. One of the governing dragons of the flight hired a well-known fighter and mercenary, Bafu. Fugen was actually able to meet the esteemed warrior, and was instantly awestruck of her. He asked to tag along with her on her quest, offering whatever gear she wanted as payment. She took him up on their offer, and off they went. When they found the Hydra, he.. was quickly bested by the beast. Bafu very quickly took the beast down. Fugen was amazed with her skill, and asked if she could train him, which she offered to do in return for the gear. During the time they trained together, they got pretty close and actually synergized together really well. The day Bafu was planning to leave, Fugen asked if he could come along with her and be her battle partner. She accepted, and the two set off together as a travelling mercenary duo. Fugen also used their travels as an excuse to sell his wares at a larger scale.
