| The tickle of the breeze on his whiskers brought a toothy smile to the imp's face. Kyan had been flying for hours now, and the dull ache in his wings was not unwelcome; in fact, it did well to mask the lingering hunger pains, remnants of an imprisonment escaped just hours earlier. Kyan felt no pride in his escape, only a sense of freedom granted like a wish from something above. As it turned out, he was free thanks to a magnificent stroke of luck; his guard simply forgot to lock his cell this time around. Kyan might not have charm or braun like his siblings, but it did seem that luck was always on his side. | QQQ |
| QQQ | A tingle of electricity raised the fur on his mane, and as he looked ahead he could just make out the dull storm clouds on the horizon. Perhaps he had been traveling for longer than he thought; the Tempest Spire's silhouette stood out in the distance, two thin wirey shapes that sizzled from time to time with neon blue tendrils. His stomach rumbled in time with the thunder. Kyan glided down, resting on a boulder just at the outskirts of the Shifting Expanse. |

| The imp craned his way this way and that, looking for a quick meal—a bit of meat sounded just about right for a short celebration. A rustling in the desert scrub caught his attention then, and he tilted his head to the right, hoping distantly for a rabbit or hare (but knowing that his empty stomach would be content with a snake or mouse anyway). Alas, it was neither. A small band of dragons was trudging ahead, chattering among themselves as they made their way across the border between the Sunbeam Ruins and the Shifting Expanse. Friend or foe? He wondered, opening his mouth to greet them. Might as well try my luck. | QQQ |
