Off the eastern coast of the Steppes, hidden by turbulant wind and waters lies the Emerald Archipelago. Here Nakahi's tribe, the Āwhātōpana, led the scattered islands in relative peace, passing lore down from generation to generation. This all changed when trouble swept through the Archipelago, cutting a bloody swathe through the clans and culminating in razing the capital, killing everyone but Mokomoko, her brother. Nakahi herself did in fact die. In their uncle's final breath, he told Mokomoko of where to take Nakahi and to whom: a blood mage and necromancer named Nightshade.

Before she died she was wickedly smart and passionate, swift to jump from talking to punching without any particular malice behind it. Simply, she was in touch with her emotions, letting them flow in and out like water and wind. After being brought back she was understandably bitter and in addition very frustrated as her revival did not come without its problems, including damage to her vocal chords which would take years to fix. Fortunately, she would be distracted from this by meeting with Koschei Urusov. Koschei, you see, had a dream, and it was a dream she very much shared. Together, Koschei and Mischa Urusov, Nakahi and Mokomoko Awhatopana, and their shared connection, Nightshade, would form the Thanatos Syndicate.

Koschei led the Syndicate, but the physical arm of it was always led by Nakahi. She's large, after all, with a huge sword of jade and an imposing helmet of black feathers. It was easy for her to convince mercenaries to join their cause. Why wouldn't you join after watching her cut through people like butter? The two found themselves a perfect pair, hoisting the Syndicate aloft as they grow closer, best friends who would together sire several children.

When Nightshade revealed his hand and crossed them, it signalled a new era for Nakahi. Of course she was devasted, it reminded her that she could not simply rely on someone else to guide her hand. And so she would return to the person she has always been at her core, a passionate woman of incredible merit. She's prone to enacting terrifying violence on those she deems needs to be punished but otherwise acts kindly, the sort of person who won't do something difficult for you but will be there cheering the entire way, cheeky underneath as a lopsided grin sits beneath her helmet.
