Sandstorm would make a magnificent crier. Unfortunately, there isn’t much need for one of those aboard an airship. But hey, just because real and pertinent news is scarce on board The Song Bird doesn’t mean he can’t make some up! Did you hear? Did you hear? Did you hear? He hails from the same Light clan as Ariath, so when she learned he was looking for a new home and suggested he join Avis Calvariam, no one objected. This may have been a mistake, as he hasn’t stopped spreading rumors since. But, though misguided and consistently wrong, his tales are rarely malicious and most everyone who knows Sandstorm knows to take anything he says with a grain of salt. To say opposites attract may not always be accurate, but in the case of Sandstorm and Onra it couldn’t be more so. Despite his arguably irresponsible habits, he and Onra get along famously. He has raised many nests together with her, and the two of them lovingly boast several grandchildren as well. He holds a deep respect for Scochi, though the two of them have never really considered each other as family. He may be a Light dragon, but like most of Avis Calvariam he’s Wind at heart and has proven himself to be a skilled kite-maker and stunt flier. He puts these talents to use repairing the sails and balloons of The Song Bird alongside Frayne and keeping his fellows entertained with his impressive axels and side-slides.
Plague Days:
For a dragon who had only ever known health and sunlight, the accidental trip into the Wasteland was very jarring for Sandstorm. The months Avis Calvariam spent trapped in the muck, hoping against all odds they wouldn’t get sick and not being wholly lucky, were months he would never choose to relive.There’s something changed in his eyes, now. A sadness for the friends he lost. A wariness that was never there before.
The Cloudsong:
Fighting is not Sandstorm's cup of tea, spell casting isn't his forte, and what are herbs, anyway?But being the mate to the clan's leader puts him in something of a spot, and he's been determined to set an example as well as support Onra's decision - and occasionally counter or quell her more... outlandish ideas. Sandstorm's grown up, it seems. |
