ANGEL
Honored Guest

Hatched as a Tundra in the Fortress of Ends, the young Angel was raised by the same dragons who created her- a small cluster of mages in the service of the Icewarden. Unlike many other denizens of Sornieth, Angel was not born of a nesting, but rather from the collective curiosity of a group of scholars, who wondered if they could harness the magical energy of the Icewarden's Fortress to create a specimen of one of the simpler breeds.

Surprised to find their endeavor successful, the dumbfounded group of mages were vastly unsure of how to raise her, leaving Angel to spend much of her adolescence trying to raise herself. It was in her attempts at self-education that she stumbled across a series of medical records, letters, journals, and exaltee logs, from which she slowly pieced together the story of the Ice Thieves.

Equal parts enthralled and enraged by their tale, Angel was further frustrated by her guardians' collective inability to tell her what befell the adventurers following the night they went out hunting. Eventually, she resorted to tracking down the medics who had tended to Nikola so many moons ago, who finally informed her that all of the survivors had fled the Icefield.

Determined to find her heroes (though whether for a celebration or a severe tongue-lashing, she still wasn't sure), Angel gained permission from her overseers to leave the Icefield and find out what lurked in the Ice Thieves' final chapter.

The young traveler was lucky enough to bump into another more experienced wanderer fairly early on in her quest. The elegant but reserved Guardian led her the long way across the Windswept Plateau and through the Sea of a Thousand Currents, to the abode of Clan Nightshade. Along the way, Angel's guide stubbornly refused to divulge anything about herself other than her name- although, much to Angel's relief, the other female was much more open when it came to helping her dry her sodden fur at the end of long days spent swimming the Tidelord's domain.

Unfortunately for the young Tundra, she did not receive quite the welcome she'd been expecting. Though many clan members where pleased and excited by the fact that Titania had brought someone home- perhaps her Charge, buzzed the especially nosy- the clan's matriarch refused her an audience for several days.

When Nightshade finally did emerge from her den, with an exhausted Poseidon at her side, it was evident to Angel from her flitting movements and inability to touch down that the Spiral was nervous. The Tundra told her story carefully, wary of upsetting the clan's leader any more than she seemingly had.

Following the discussion, Nightshade and Poseidon returned to her den to discuss in private, and emerged late that evening to deliver their verdict- the Tundra could stay. It would be rude, after all, to turn away a guest. The words irritated Angel more than a little, as she'd been hoping to find a home here, seeing as she hardly had one anywhere else.

Days passed with no real change in status, save her growing steadily more uncomfortable with her thick, heavy coat, which now seemed to her as more of a burden, since it was no longer shielding her from the Icefield's frigid winds.

She inevitably ended up discussing this, as well as the rest of her tale, with the unusually perceptive Heza, who assured her that Nightshade would warm up to her eventually, and posed the question if perhaps Angel felt better suited to life as another breed. After further contemplation and discussion, Angel felt that her dogged persistence and willingness to pursue a goal to the ends of Sornieth were indicative of the Mirror she truly was.

Since then, Heza (with careful but hidden supervision from an elusive Titania) has been assisting the other in carefully preparing the magecraft necessary for a breed change. Angel, for her part, is crafting plans of her own; she intends to become a full member of the clan, ever (or perhaps especially) if she has to hunt down one of the clan's more elusive authorities to do it.
