You've recognized the voice in the distance, but you can't recall the face. You could've sworn you heard splashing in the seas, but there was no given trace. Thousands of beings have said the same thing— a call, a cry echoing out through the waves. A muffled scream, a broken call as the moonlight creeps in throughout the end of it all. You hear the trees chittering along as they sway in the breeze, swampy form preying on the ominous in-between. Looking like kelp, the hair wraps around a claw and it's only seconds more until it encompasses it all. It's a story that's told in whispered tales, the story of a being that preys on those who has a will that fails. She lures them in with a siren song, the sharp maw making sure they don't last too long. The shadows seem to hide where she lies— striking the fear into hearts, into eyes. It's the story of a creature that lurks wherever she pleases, striking from the shadows with her own claws that can tear to pieces. The muffled scream is all you may hear, sometimes followed by a chilling laugh that rings through the ears. Beware of the creatures that lurk among the night. Especially her. |
