Clan Clarion is located in the western cliffs of the Reedcleft Ascent, overlooking Windstar Bay. Since Caela and her mate, Rosethorn, are very large dragons, they leap out of the cliffside caves and catch thermals in order to fly.

Caela was originally a Guardian, like Rosethorn. She requested Embershard to prepare a ridgeback scroll several years ago. She still retains some of her Guardian tendencies, and views the entirety of the clan (no matter how much and how often it may change) as her charge.

Several years later she opted to change again, this time into a veilspun.

Caela struggled to get used to her much smaller veilspun form. The gusts around the cliffs of the lair would often blow her off course and dangerously close to the water. One summer day, as she was leaving the lair to investigate strange happenings in the sea, a downdraft pushed her into the water of Windstar Bay. The waves were infused with millions of bubbles containing the Tidelord's power as he attempted to communicate with his flight and anyone else who could understand him. Caela tried to use these bubbles to breathe, but they contained no air. Instead the magic in them melded with her body. It was a sensation similar to Embershard's scroll magic. She continued to sink and pop the bubbles and slowly she began to find clarity in pieces of the Tidelord's message. Her mind was unable to focus on anything but gurgles and blubs. Suddenly she realized that the water around her in every direction was void of any light. The bubbles had also disappeared. In a panic, she swam as fast as possible hoping she was heading toward the surface. Eventually she did make it out of the water and returned to the lair where the other clan members remarked on her new form. Embershard was intrigued and requested to study her to develop a morphing scroll to offer to Rosethorn. She and Rosethorn supported this endeavor and Embershard began his work.
