A traveling dragon who has gone by many names and sired many a child in her time. She ages slowly, gracefully, her beauty entrancing those of all genders. He seduces the hopeless romantic, making a game of how long it might take for the more stubborn to fall in love with him. After the fall, he leaves, not a care for the broken hearts left in his wake. Does he do it for the hurt he causes others? For the sweet villainy of it? Does he do it for the trinkets and gold he steals on his way out? Maybe he does it for the money or the pleasure. Maybe she does it to be cruel. Maybe she does it because she doesn't know how to stop.
Maybe she really wants something more.

Labarindja has traveled far and wide across Sornieth, and finally came to the Quiet Garden. The tourist trap was perfect for his needs, and he planned on making the most of it. Until he met a resident of the island who pointed him in the direction of the clan leader. Cassiel did not ask any probing questions about Labarindja's past or present. She merely wondered if he would like to visit the clifff's edge with her. Labarindja is naturally wary, but the kind matriarch has no ill intentions as she brings him to an edge, where the land meets the sea. Where the water and they wind and the sky are forever. There, with the wind cradling them in the sky, Cassiel tells Labarindja that the world is bigger than the people inside it, and not all great pleasures have the same source. Labarindja is breathless, a storm inside her seems to abate. Long after the matriarch leaves her to her thoughts Labarindja is still there, feeling the salty air against her scales. For the first time she wonders what the world is like. Hadn't she seen it all? Hasn't she been everywhere and experienced all there is to this world?

But now, he grows ever restless, and no amount of tourists can sate her hunger and need. What she hungers for seems to have changed, and it makes her uncertain. What she hungers for now, she isn't sure, but she knows she cannot find it here, in the Quiet Garden. He is ready to leave the island, to search for something he is lacking.

Sometimes he laughs at himself, a little bitterly, for acting like a guardian on the search. Sometimes he laughs at himself, a little sadly, for acting like the wind under his wings isn't enough.
A small part of him hopes that someday, it will be.
