Mauridras

Mauridras is one of the dragons from the beginning of Lye's adventures, one of the early ones she brought back to keep Samson company. He started off life as a tundra, but after following Lye on one of her Wyrmwound pilgrimages, returned home as a mirror. A very badly tempered mirror.

He occupied most of his time with the mirror pack that took it upon itself to keep the clan fed and supplied, though never considered himself under the authority of its early leader, Khamina. His waspish personality kept most at a respectful distance from him, but were any of the clan ever in danger, he was one of the first to step in and fight. Despite the events that changed him from his original state, Mauridras followed Lye on several more of her pilgrimages, enjoying a close friendship with her, even if he never seemed to speak highly of anything.

When the war broke out, he joined Cicano's resistance. His ferocity and cunning earned him a place as Ciciano's lieutenant. When Lye came to them in order to ask for their assistance in taking control of the clan, his old allegiance and friendship with her urged him to follow, but he remained silent. Her abandonment of the clan in its time of need, and Prunterton's violent opposition to her, prompted him to keep his own council.

He was glad enough when she succeeded in winning over Ciciano and his fighters, and was happy to fight at her side. The pilgrimage she took the clan on after her victory reminded him much of simpler times, and he was happy to fall back on his old, solitary role as protector of the clan.

Though he proved himself during the war and Lye offered him a position of leadership within the clan, he refused to take it. While he spends most of his time alone, defending the clan borders, he does go out on contract with them, and sometimes even torments Ciciano's new recruits with his own training regiments.
