Inke

Inke is the first child for both clan champions, and Quiddred is very proud of his rowdy nature, as it shows he's a true mirror dragon. Ieru, on the other hand, being much more quiet and reserved, feels distant from him, and unsure how to approach him. This complicates their relationship a bit.

He is very proud to be the son of two Clan Champions, and is often a bit of a jerk about it. He feels entitled to the respect of all the dragons in the clan, and brags about helping his father all the time. This, of course, is just a mask for his insecurities and fears of never living up to expectations. He takes criticism to heart, and often reacts by lashing out. And as much as he will deny it, he does wish to be closer to his gentler mother.

However, that relationship has become even more strained since she had another son, Ruan, with the Arcane Champion, Freas. Inke sees Ruan as his competition, since both of them were born of champion parents. He mocks and belittles his half-brother, and will even go so far as to sabotage his beloved projects. Ruan has tried to be friendly towards him, but Inke only sees that as a weakness to be exploited.

After the birth of his half-sister, Athera, Inke began to change. He became more aware of how mean-spirited his birth father was, and why his mother left him. He also became aware of how terrible he was being, and began to resent his mirror heritage. Seeing how happy and loving his step family was, he became so distraught with himself that he ran away to the Tangled Wood.

There, he sought out help from the ancient Veilspuns. He begged them to turn him in a Pearlcatcher like his mother, so he could return home and be accepted into his family as a new son! So he could start over with his mother and his siblings. However, the Veilspun tricked him, and since the Pearlcatchers are decedents of the Veilspun, they transformed him into one. Angry at this trick and unfamiliar with the new form, Inke retreated further into the Tangled Wood, where he met Starkeeper. He fell in love and together they had a daughter named Lavendelle. Once he had a family of his own, Inke finally felt ready to return to Relicta and face his past.

Having been missing for over two years, and having been transformed into a Veilspun, his family was quite shocked by his return. But were overjoyed to welcome him and his family home.
