Biography

Vocation:
Position/Vocation Within The Hive: Chaos-maker
Besties: Andersen, his saltmate. Andersen disputes this.
Mate: Prolonged Flirt Fight with Shakespeare (Gotta make sure not to catch The Real Feelings)

Puck is a mischievous, occasionally flighty Fae, or at least, that is the shape he chooses to take. Like his namesake, he is pure, undiluted chaos, though he usually attempts to keep his pranks and tricks from severely harming other dragons and beings that reside in the lair.

---

When Almediha first set her eyes on Puck the Glade flew into something of a panic; while Puck himself rarely lets things go too far, and never as far as Almediha takes them, a child with his chaotic fey magic and Almediha's own flavor of near-eldritch chaos would spell doom for the Glade if Almediha had her way. So, as soon as the clan heads heard word of it, Puck was packed up and sent off to Haven. Quite literally, Xanthias managed to catch him by surprise, shove him in his scroll sack, and whisked him away to Haven before he could burn through the bag. The week of perpetual ringing in his ears was worth getting the Fae away, and really, it almost reminded him of home.

Puck was, as one would assume, quite put out in his sudden removal from the Glade, even more so when he realized that he had been displaced from his home solely because of the nuisance that had plagued the Glade for an unreasonable amount of time. Not even the sole, undivided attention of one of Haven's bards, Shakespeare, could quell his irritation, far from it, in fact; the only thing that came of it was a deep sense of guilt from stealing Shakespeare's attention away from the others in the clan.

When it became clear to the denizens of Haven that Puck could not simply be contained by their bard, he was instead passed off to Eris, who, true to her nature, kept Puck and all of his chaotic energy well-distracted and uninterested in slipping away. Or so was the general belief. In reality Puck had quite easily made his mind up, and was now simply playing along. If those in the Glade lacked confidence him, and those in Haven were simply doing what was asked of them, he would indulge them. Eris, at least, was fascinating to him, in a detached way, and there were worse ways to pass one's time.

Eventually, however, the all clear that Puck had been waiting for came, and he was swiftly ferried back to the Glade, this time by Blizz, who had been running Arseni a letter and decided that she could take on a Fae-shaped passenger. After a very impressively quick trip back, Blizz had let him off her back near the hidden entrance to the Fey Court, deep in the Wilds, with a promise that "whatever the rot you're planning, you're careful", which he found quite easy to agree to. After all, he would hardly be in danger.

--

Finding Almediha was almost laughably easy, meaning that she had surely been expecting him to come to her regardless of the measures that Zumurrud had implemented. He had simply traced her energy and found himself moving further and further from the Glade's territory, until he realized that he was quite near the abandoned Pox Consulate.

Puck was hardly surprised that the Tundra had sequestered herself away; Pinja's passing had been a shock to the entire Glade, and it was clear to all that looked that Almediha had been the catalyst. She was also believed to be the cause of Panacea's disappearance, as Leonida declared that she had seen Almediha talking to several suspicious Raptoriks some days prior to his disappearance; once Aakesh heard, she had disappeared, preferring to risk the dangers nearer to the Plague lands than Aakesh's wrath.

Crossing the threshold caused the air around him to shimmer, and Puck felt the effects of several spells begin to take hold. It was hatchling's play to dispel them, and only a mite more difficult to ensure that Almediha didn't notice, and to make it appear as if the spells had latched on as she had intended. Their discussion was brief, and Puck was unsurprised by what Almediha had desired; children, an army of strong, magical children who would usurp those who led the Glade and would raise her as the true matriarch.

The longer she talked, the clearer it was to Puck that she thought him fairly simple-minded and chaotic simply for the sake of chaos, a mistake that he was more than willing to lean into. Before the night was out, they had come close to a conclusion, ready to shake on it before Puck paused and retracted his hand. "Point of order, what do I get from all of this?" he asked, softening his crest and putting more emotion in his voice than he normally allowed, pleased when Almediha ate it up without a second thought. "Whatever you desire most in this world." she had said, full of confidence and spite, and Puck smiled. "A deal, then." The moment their paws touched, magic sparked between them, wrapping around their wrists and shimmering brightly for a moment before fading away entirely. Almediha was smiling, her fangs full on display, and Puck knew he had her.
---

The evening air of the midsummer night was charged with just the right amount of wild magic for all of Puck's careful planning.
