Ever since she was young, Alina had always had a sense of adventure. Growing up with stories of brave adventures who traveled the world instilled a sense of wonder into her. She wanted nothing more than to set off and see the world. As soon as she was old enough, she did just that, leaving her original clan in the Flintlock Fumaroles to explore Sornieth. She flew east until she reached the Shifting Expanse. She had heard of. The great cities that could be found there, and wanted to see them for herself. Enamored by the incredible architecture, she stayed for several days, taking in the sights and meeting as many dragons as she could; listening to their stories and simply learning bout their day-to-day lives. She was in awe of how different everything was from her homeland.

One dragon she met during her time in the Stormcatcher’s domain was Xen, a fellow Imperial who shared her desire to travel the world. They quickly grew close and decided to travel together. They spent a couple days or so exploring the Highland Scrub, before heading north towards the Sunbeam Ruins. Alina was adoring exploring the different regions of sornieth. She thought they were all so unique and beautiful in their own way.

After spending several days exploring ruins, the pair reached Emporer’s Wake. Alina quickly flew into the open expanse, Xen following swiftly behind. The large beast that calls the area home, Luminax, was alerted of thier presence, and was not happy about the intrusion. When the two young dragons noticed the emperor, it was too late to escape. They had no choice but to fight back, though their attacks didn’t seem to have much effect on the Emperor. While doing their best to fend off the beast, Xen managed to cause a distraction so that Alina could make her getaway. It worked, and she escaped Liminax’s reach. Xen was a much faster flyer than she was and he caught up to her easily, but this diverted Luminax’s attention back onto the both of them.

As they were flying away, Alina suffered a powerful strike to her wing. This sent her crashing into the Driftwood Expanse. The marshy ground offered a bit of cushion for her landing so she didn’t get injured too badly from the crash, but her wing had been broken. Luckily for her, she happened to land near Kumari’s hut. Kumari was a witch who lived alone in the marshy region. She helped to bandage Alina’s injured wing, and offered to let the two rest in her swamp for the day. Alina declined, wanting to get as far away from the raging emperor as she could. She was distraught over losing her ability to fly, but she trudged forth, making her way further into the Tangled Wood. She had loved all the other areas of Sornieth that she had explored so far, but this place was miserable. It was cold and damp, and so, so dark. There was a creepy aura everywhere she went, like she was being watched from the shadows. She wished she could fly so badly, so that she could fly over, and avoid this dreadful place.

After walking for several hours, Alina and Xen reached the Foxfire Bramble. It was late in the evening, so they decided to settle down for the night. They positioned some of the thorns to make a small den for themselves, and laid down, ready to get out of shadow territory tomorrow. Then, as night approached, something incredible happened. The mushrooms that were scattered across the ground began to glow a brilliant blue, and fireflies began to fill the air. It was beautiful. It looked as if the world itself had come to life. It was then that Alina had come to a realization. That you can find beauty in anything, as long as you give it a chance. She decided she wanted to stay here, and Xen agreed. The next day, the two Imperials got to work. They tore up and dragged the bramble, so that it made a large clearing.

While clearing out the bramble, the two dragons found a small cave. They searched the inside and found a baby Coatl dragon inside. They had no clue how this little one had gotten there, or where their parents were. They decided to take the hatchling in and raise them as their own. They named this hatchling Mitra.

Alina wanted to start a clan in this new territory. She wanted to create a place where travelers could stop to rest, and appreciate the beauty of this area, just like she had. She wanted to create a space that welcomed any dragon. Thus, Wanderer’s Refuge was founded.

Today, Alina has grown a considerable population in her little outcropping. She has made her den within a large tree, near the back of the territory. There, she lives with Xen, Mitra, her two first-born children, Anzo and Flaviana, their mates, and her grandaughter, Dura. Alina and Xen still explore Sornieth from time to time, leaving their children in charge while they are gone.
