Marmalade had always delighted in cooking and baking things for other dragons, taking great joy in sharing a steaming bowl of stew or a warm, freshly baked cookie. On an impulse, he decided that he wanted to travel Sornieth and learn from other dragons. So he quickly left his clan, and began his journey. Along the way, he began experimenting with mixing magic into his baking, and stirring the very essence of the earth into his cooking. He learned how to evoke warm, nostalgic memories with a well-placed spell in a chicken noodle soup, or how to create jubilancy with little more than lemon zest cupcakes. While stopping in the Tsunami Flats, he happened to meet Banana, a young coatl looking to explore Sornieth. The two hit off, and Marmalade was quick to agree to him tagging along with him. Several years later, the two stopped in the Windswept Plateau, staying with a clan who called themselves the Clan of the Western Winds. Marmalade found himself quite taken with them, and soon enough they began finding excuses to return more and more often while on their travels, until he and Banana both became full-fledged members. Whenever the two return back home from a trip, Marmalade will always make a huge feast, assisted by Banana. Within the food, spells and charms of warmth, happiness and comfort will be stirred, whisked and mixed into every bite, and contented chatter will fill the clearing, accompanied by the song of the cicadas and tree frogs. |
