this is my story...

Living on the edges to the point of being truly reclusive, Rhea is a dragon you can expect to have a greater connection with nature and the world than most you could find roaming around. Keeping to her modest cave surrounded by numerous kinds of plants and trees, Rhea's love of life is obvious in how well she cares for them even when the season threatens how long they'll last. And those are just the flora her clan know about! Rumor has it that her cave is in fact deeper and wider than any Skydancer really needs, to house the rare blooms and stalks that can't withstand anything more than light rain or sun to stay green and healthy.

Sadly, this kind dragon isn't too keen on battle. The very idea of being with more than one other dragon usually proves the bigger problem, using her viridian coloring to blend in with the best camoflauge available. It's why, if she has to, Rhea is best working from the very rear in a combat situation: offering potions and spells that can potent in equal measure. The rest of the time, she wanders alone, using the lushness of spring and summer as her cloak to avoid trouble from monsters and rivals. If confronted, Rhea's reaction is natural: a quick spell or a scream, then before you know it, she's gone. Given the often troublesome nature of various dragon species and creatures on the prowl, Rhea's gotten quite good with the vanishing part.

Within her clan however, time spent largely alone seems to have given Rhea a curious grace not seen in a dragon so young. Her powerful eyes do suggest that her magic is stronger than many other dragons which by itself is rare, and in someone so openly meek strange indeed. This curious combination is often thought by her fellow clanmembers to surmise that her power makes her sensitive to others, easily upset or frightened by aura so different or openly offensive to her own. Hence the isolation and odd serenity found among much gentler sources like plants or as her eyes proclaim, calm winds. Just how true this is has never been tested, and few of the oldest dragons in her clan are keen on asking. Whatever it takes to keep the poor dear from squawking like a crane just to fly off, maybe never to be seen again.

Perhaps to humor her or because they wish to see her eventually overcome her nerves, few are allowed to actively visit the twitchy Skydancer and her haven, neatly tucked away from any path or road a stranger might follow. Rhea appreciates this greatly, often with laughter, a hearty greeting or basket of her best gatherings to be shared among the clan for one reason or another. It's with these select few that she's at her most confident, and calm, to speak with and learn of the happenings beyond her grove. A tireless practice first for her parents, then her teachers, and now her elders and few friends, keen on sharing what is on offer. These same few are probably the only ones who can get her to leave for days of games, festivals and even hatch-day parties, which she agrees to attend in varying degrees of excitement. No matter how short her attendance, Rhea is greeted warmly and with smiles, leaving no one surprised when even a few moments is too much.

No matter her contradictions, Rhea is seen as a vital piece of her clan even if the poor thing may not think so. She is protected, maybe a little better than the nests or the hatchlings inside, with equal jealousy. Her clansmen view her as more than just a quirky Skydancer with social anxiety, but a source of insight brought on by watching others (information she'll furiously deny, but from her blush we know that's not true). Long hours spent reading or discussing history and other written work make her an untapped cache of knowledge only the elders consider but it's only a matter time before the rest of the clan catches on. In her way, Rhea hopes they never do.

beyond my control...
All in all, to find Rhea even my pure accident should be considered a privilege. Be it alone or with a friend she knows well, this Skydancer may well retreat with a cry or fuss over where you step on the path to her home. A downside has to be all the pollen that can even make a Snapper wrinkle his snout, leaving most unwilling to venture near her cave during the spring.

Still, trying your hand at being her companion for the day has an often curious payoff once you get past the nerves and all the stuttering: her dandelion wine is amazing!
