A Growing Clan
Part 1
Dabas looked over his work. Hmm, maybe if he switched those two wires? Or maybe he should... Uh Oh! "Oy mate can I get a hand over here?"
Elder growled and stomped over from his work station. As he heaved and struggled to untie Dabgas he took the opportunity to scold him yet again. "How are you supposed to get any work done if all you do is tie yourself in knots over the tiniest details? Get it done, and get it done right the first time."
Elder let out a deep sigh, "at least I know you don't leave anything done wrong."
Elder let out a deep sigh, "at least I know you don't leave anything done wrong."
It had been about a month since Dabas had joined Elder's tiny group. Arliin was nice enough, but Zeal just gave him a chill down his spine. Beta was kind, but also a bit nosey, and Elder was fair if nothing else. The only problem was that Dabas had trouble at work. You see, where he came from everyone always took it slow to make sure it would last for ages to come. Here, you work hard and fast, or you get left in the dust. The stress had made Dabas tie himself in knots much more often than usual.
"There you go, now try to finish that circuit box before the day is over."
Suddenly. his attention snapped to the other side of the workshop, "Zeal, where did you get those circuit boxes? I thought we were out. And I know you didn't make them yourself, they are much to well put together, you rush through all your work."

Zeal snorted "I just borrowed them from the clan over there, now we can wire them up to our system and move onto something else. We saved nearly two hours we would have spent making them ourselves."
Elder sighed and grumbled to himself, just loud enough for Dabas to hear, as he got back to his box, "One rushes, one can't seem to trust their first try, why can't it be one thing I need to fix? And I can't babysit these two, I need to do work too. And I know ridgebacks come from here but is this really how things work here?'

Dabas got back to work and tried to force himself to do it fast like Zeal, but he just couldn't resist double-checking. Out of his exasperation, he got an idea.
That night after supper, when everyone started heading to their dens, Dabas mustered his courage. He approached the imposing dragon and began to speak, but one look at those razor-sharp sickles made him falter. "Hi mate, I... Ummmm... we could..."
Zeal turned and stood full height becoming thoroughly imposing. "Well, Dabas? What is it?"
Dabs calmed himself. he could do this.
"You know, what Elder said at work today has me thinking, maybe if you work at your usual breakneck pace, and I just double-check what you've done that would get him off both of our backs and help us both work more efficiently, so what do you say, mate?
Zeal gave one of her infamously strange chuckles, then looked down toward Dabas, "on one condition..."
