Biography

Zansel "Firemane" or "Flameshard Captain"
The only surviving Fallen of the legendary House of Fire, which was completely lost to the Whirlwind, the House and presumably most if not all history referring to them, Zansel was once a very proud and honorable warrior. The House of Fire was called so for their legendary abilities of the forge; some of the best weapons, blades, and armor came from this House. Zansel himself carries a sacred blade gifted him by his Kell and rumored to have been forged by the Kell's own claw. The House of Fire once held to an honor code, one that was quite strict when it came to battle, and would best be compared to the samurai warriors of Earth's past, both in fighting styles and honor and values; even their blades bare strikingly close resemblance, though often enhanced with flame magic and more ornate in detail. As such, Zansel once only fought with a blade and held strictly to the House of Fire's code of honor and was honored by his Kell on several occasions, but much has changed now. The Whirlwind and its destruction of his House left him alone, hurt, and extremely confused. Conflict descended and, since he refused to join with the cruel Kells of the modern Houses, he was attacked viciously on all sides by his warring kind. After several questionable battles and the bloody killing of his own kind he was forced to commit, for no justifiable reason in his mind, Zansel laid down his noble sword and resorted to the modern energy rifles of his race, feeling he was no longer worthy of wielding it. He carries it with him, but has not used it since. Zansel finally found a place of refuge with Enras, who had suffered the same fate of losing his House, and took to training with him. He is an expert and deadly sniper who has killed more in cold blood that he'd like to admit, but deep down Zansel is still lost and longs for a true reason to fight again. He also misses the old customs and lifestyle of his lost House.
