____Between Gaolers' recent reintroduction to the outside world and their rigid social structures, there are few that chose to abandon their cause entirely or rebel. It just figures that this clan would get one of those few.

____Xanthippe never knew she resented the strict boundaries of her home until she was assigned the role of Seeker, and left to fulfill her duty. It came slowly, with the gradual exposure to other clans, lairs, cultures. She tried her best. She tried to stand apart from them, to not be corrupted. But when she got too close to an experiment at Focal Point and was hit with unimaginable amounts of Arcane power, that corruption suddenly became all too literal. The magic overwhelmed her own natural stores, replacing it and forever changing her eyes. Her coat was burned black at the edges with the searing force and the sigils from the experiment were left imprinted on her limbs. And suddenly she had an excuse not to go home. Perhaps they would have taken her back, a new weapon in the arsenal, if she was loyal, if she adhered to the laws. If she had left her doubt behind. But it was too late. She had seen the world and now had an excuse to stay away. She didn't want to return anymore.

____Clan Perekovat is the perfect hiding place for her. Close enough to home that she feels that she could just go back if she wanted to, no decision too final, and far enough away, in the hottest goddamn region that no one will ever look for her in.
