Biography
His parents were both bright people, his mother quite literally. Jomei's father was from an Arcane clan, smart and logical. His mother was from a Light clan, happy, cheerful and extremely smart.
With both of his parents being good examples of what his future should be like, he was never a problematic hatchling. Everything was perfectly fine for him, Jomei was a golden child. Except he can remember the time it took for it to all go down hill.
"Aziraphale! You're running to fast, wait for me!" Jomei raced after his brother who was sprinting towards their 'secret' spot to play. His breath was coming out quickly as he pushed his legs to go faster, he wanted to beat Aziraphale.
Finally he reached their play area after his brother already had moments before. "Do you want to play Hide and Hunt?!" Jomei's voice held too much energy for him to have after all that running. Aziraphale just laughed and replied to his energetic brother. "Sure, you hide first. I need to get better at hunting!" Jomei nodded and waited until his brother turned around before he took off to hide. He found a burrow from some deceased rodent, so he decided to hide in it. Once he was situated inside he waited. And waited.
He waited until he heard a twig snap above him, causing him to still. Sniffing could be heard as something walked above him. Footsteps got closer until it decided nothing was nearby, so it turned away and left to go in the other direction.
That's when the burning started. It started as a small pinch in his tail, then it grew to a sharp pain. A few moments later the pain began to really burn, he felt as if he was on fire. The pain spread up throughout most of his body until it was just in his head. It felt as if he had been thrown in lava from another world. Jomei hadn't known he had been screaming until Aziraphale pulled him from that burrow and began asking what happened. Jomei couldn't answer in words, only screams of pain. Noticing this Aziraphale held him tighter and raced back to the clan for help.
Nobody knew what was happening, whenever a dragon touched Jomei they quickly jumped back because of how hot his skin was. Half of his body had been changing quickly, turning dark and gloomy and making it's way up to his head. They couldn't do anything except hope he would live through whatever was happening to him, and hoped his vocal cords wouldn't be harmed from all the screaming.
Days later the pain stopped. When Jomei woke up he looked around and noticed he was in the clan infirmary. He didn't understand why until he looked at his body. It was different, his scales had changed into dark colors, small and large veins of what looked like magma were scattered along his body.
A cough sounded from outside the cave and then Aziraphale walked in. His face was etched with worry that quickly morphed into joy as he saw Jomei's open eyes. "You're awake!" He trailed off staring at his brothers body before he spoke again. "H-how are you feeling, are you okay?" Jomei looked down at his body once again then looked back up at his brother. "I...I think so." He didn't sound so sure when he spoke. He felt too broken to answer truthfully.
Those days had been etched into his mind. Jomei could never forget them. At night he occasionally woke up from the burning sensation every once and a while. They still haven't figured out why he changed, some suspect it's something like what happened to the dragon, Blackheart. Others think it's some unholy dragon or spirit who wanted to ruin his life. And if that's the case, they succeeded slightly.
