”Before Wightspark Manor was constructed, vast veins of copper ore were strip mined from the moldering stone upon which the house would one day be erected. It was during these operations that the Wightwicket, an otherworldly gate to a realm unseen and ineffable, was discovered.

Soon this raw copper began to exhibit strange properties, acting more as a conductor of supernatural power than electricity. Thus, many constructs hewn from this ore attract the attention of spirits - both benevolent and not so benign - who adopt the copper shells as their body. Despite years of study, no one quite understands the nature of these spirits, be they the dead returned from beyond the veil or something….else.”
