Valado

A lapsed haruspex; a butcher-magician. Dr. Valado is an invaluable investigator of draconic anatomy, but not one for small talk.

Bones are the last and perfect record of a dragon, and Valado has travelled far to study the skeletal structures of every breed. "Osteology", as they call it, is a path to reading someone through their bones; where they jut and swing under the skin, where they fall when the rest of the body crumbles. The success they've had diagnosing latent and active diseases in patients, just from examining the sway of their ribs, is undeniable - but we wish they wouldn't keep asking to take a bone from each patient, as a souvenir.

Valado is a rival of the surgeon Zeria; they would be kindred spirits if they could accept that the organs and the skeleton could both reflect the overall health of their owners.

Hoard: Dr. Valado takes parts of his patients to keep watch and control over them, ostensibly in their better interest. As the bones he receives and reshapes are reflections of their living owners, they count as prisoners first, patients second, and not as possessions.
