What does it feel like to preach the word of a deity that vanished long before your egg cracked open and you stumbled into this world?

You brave storms, blizzards, raiders, zealots, and far more spirits than a dragon should deal with in their lifetime-- and still, your prayers go unanswered.

Belief is a powerful, damning thing.
ABOUT.
Born and raised in the Sea of a Thousand Currents and taught to worship a god who had disappeared from existence long before he hatched from the shell, Litany learned from a young age that it takes a tremendous faith to remain this devout.

He'd never imagined a quiet life for himself. Spending days at a time at Water temples, kneeling in front of shrines, praying to a deity who could neither reply nor listen-- Litany believed with all his heart, but he was no fool.

The Tidelord was gone. It was as simple as that.

All the efforts of the scouts and search parties were for naught. His birth clan may have been a tad more zealous than most and many still refused to believe it, but he understood the truth the same way his parents and siblings did.

One night, he ran away. There was no tearful farewell, no parting fanfare. It was expected and understood. He doesn't look back.

When an imperial with scales the colour of storm clouds and moonbeams turned up at a bay near the borders of the Starfall Isles seeking safe passage, no one questioned a thing. He had the treasure to pay for silence; come sunrise, he was on the first transport headed to the Observatory.

Now, he wanders. Searching for a purpose, or at least, the truth. Meanwhile, he will pass on the teachings of the deity he claims to believe in. Some day, perhaps, he will find some semblance of the peace he seeks.

Anyone from his past who wishes to follow the trail and chase him down and ask him why should remember this:

'Litany' is not the name he was given at birth.
