The local drunken genus
"Those- *hic* Those... meat bags think they are SO *hic* smart! Well, I say- *hic* I say they're WROOOOONG! They FIRED me because they didn't want me to *hic* reveal how... stupid they are to the whole world! But I know the TRUTH! I know the real dumb... Why they're... On a scale of... Okay. One to ten. That scale. From one to ten, they would all be a big, fat DUMB! And I am the not crazy one." The gilded Pearlcatcher smiles widely, his chest puffed out in an obvious display of confidence.
The dusty Skydancer looks at him with amusement. This is the third night this week that Laymen has gotten this drunk and given the same speech about how he found his way here. And each night, Guto listens to him. She is pretty sure that the Pearlcatcher is half mad. She and her mate, Eliza, are almost certain that the story is a farce. He was most likely fired because of his "unethical" behavior.
Ambassador of the Sunbeam Ruins
Each cycle, Laymen travels to the Sunbeam Ruins to collect news from the Light Flight and brings the info back to the dragons of Diamoor. He is under strict observation, and is not allowed to travel on his own. He is usually accompanied by Shallah and Sickle, as they are familiar with the area.
Not only are these precautions set in place because of Laymen's previous position, but the Pearlcatcher has been seen poking around the edge of the forbidden Hewn City. With Shallah and Sickle having spent a prolonged amount of time within the ruined city, they are the perfect duo to keep the Pearlcatcher from accidentally killing himself.
