He will do everything in his power to keep you from getting a good look at his face, so be wary of any Mirrors you meet wearing a mask, a helmet, or an armet. He has ties to Volrina, so it could be worth it to take a venture over to The Wolves’ campgrounds to stake out who sends her messages, though I am firm in my belief that Kjeld has realized he is being monitored and won’t be fool enough to deliver messages himself. “When you find him, I want you to destroy him. I want his last moments to be agony. I want you to bottle his blood and bring it to me, so that I may taste his final fears before he perished. I want to know what twisted look of horror was plastered upon his face before he died, and I want to know in excruciating detail. I want you to slaughter this pig, and I want you to commit every second to memory so that I may live vicariously through you. “If you cannot manage this simple task of killing a dragon a third your size, then I will take my coin elsewhere. This creature is the reason my children are dead, and I will not tolerate failure any more than I will tolerate his continued existence.”

"I don't know why she cares. I've known Kjeld for years. He's nothing special. A blacksmith, bad tempered. Lives in some old ruins the Dragonhome Preservation Guild gave up on out in the middle of nowhere, because there's less of a chance somebody will find him. We talk via courier a lot, though I've not seen him in person for years. He's always been very dedicated to his work.
"But Dhaunayne is insufferable about him. Not quite sure what she thinks she'll accomplish my yammering at me. I don't care. I don't know or particularly want to know what beef she had with him--it's none of my business--but she doesn't dictate who I know. Who I buy from. Kjeld is quality, I like him, and if she doesn't? Her problem, not mine." |
