Niflheim
Jailer, Keeper

"It is my job to bind you and keep you where you can cause no harm. Why do you try to run?"

Niflheim was born to two fae living in the Southern Icefields. He doesn't remember them or what happened next, only that he woke up a gaoler in the wilds of the Icewarden's domain. A nearby ward took him in and raised him as one of their own. Niflheim never fully fit in, though, both due to a difficulty understanding the emotions of the other gaolers around him as well as being physically not as imposing as the others. His monotone voice throws other dragons off, although his fellow gaolers don't notice it as much, typically fixated on their tasks.

Once he came of age, Niflheim decided to join the Keepers, not having the strength for the Overseers, Sentinels, or Sentries. Seeking never interested him in the slightest. After making his decision, Niflheim bid his adopted family goodbye before going off to find his place in the world. His journey came to an end once he found another gaoler in a clan in the Lightweaver's domain.

It didn't take Niflheim long to see that Tsuki needed help, instantly volunteering to maintain the jail while she brings prisoners to him. Grateful for his help, Tsuki treats him as a close confidant, the two sharing a special connection due to their shared background and upbringing. Niflheim sees himself as a gaoler through and through, ignoring most other dragons. He rarely leaves the jail, tied to his work and his calling.

Similarly to Tsuki, Niflheim sees Yoru a source of disgust with his weakness. That said, he is more willing to interact with the other than Tsuki.
