Biography

(1) :Origins & Rebellion:........................................................................................(May 2016)

The lair originated in Nature.

Under the Gladekeeper's watchful eye Mailae and Fiome settled in the roots of great trees. Mailae was given visions of her deity and began exalting in the name of her goddess, taking the life of her first hatchling as soon as it emerged from it's egg as a display to her devotion. Nami and Erithul, the other two dragonlets from her first clutch, grew quickly as she amassed a group of dragons, taking the name the Cult of Fallen Leaves.

When Erithul was old enough, Mailae brought another dam into the camp for her son, a maize lady named Celvrell. She had great plans for her son and his mate to lead the Cult, but Celvrell saw Mailae's exaltations for what they were- the brutal sacrifice of the clan's hatchlings with forced viewing for the rest of the members. She began to plan to over-throw the dragoness, but was revealed by Erithul to his mother. Her demise was unknown of by much of the Cult, though it cut Mailae deep as she had considered Celvrell in a twisted sense as her own daughter and heir. The progens had many young and kept few for short periods until Mailae found them unworthy.

At this time, Oriel, a young Skydancer skilled in magic was brought as a worker to the camp, and assigned one of Mailae's great-nephews, who treated her poorly. She attempted to rise against the Matriarch but was easy stopped, ending the time of rebellion in the camp as Mailae followed the trail of would-be mutineers, clearing them from her Cult like felling trees.

With her attentions turned to culling to bring the Cult back to blind devotion to her cause and her deity, she focused on grooming her daughter, Nami, who shrivelled under the attention. Nami had suitors and mates brought to her, with orders to provide more young for exaltation to keep the deity strong and the Cult in her favour.

Eventually, Erithul snapped under the change in Mailae's attentions, and Fiome was ordered to dispose of the deemed-useless drake. At this time Fiome realized how wrong Mailae was, but was unable to refuse as she was his charge and he was oath bound to her, rigid in his devotion. He was shaken by the loss of most of his whelps, and became husk-like for a time.

(2) :The Flock & Auxmeur:

Shortly after Erithul was slain, an order of butterfly-winged Faeries settled under a waterfall near the camp- how they came to be there no dragon had been able to figure out, they arrived as quickly as a tropical summer storm. Their leader, Chai, whispered to Mailae, her scent like a hypotizing mist that muddled the dam's ability to ignore the Plague dragon. The influence of the Flock drove Mailae to withdraw, weakening the Cult to a slim roster, and leaving room for the Flock Faeries to thrive.
At the same time, a sudden burst of Faeries not affiliated with the Flock became known in Sornieth, arrived through the ripped veil of time from a place they knew as Auxmeur, an alternate to Sornieth and filled with the violent and tempermental Faeries. They masqueraded as sent by deities to lead the common dragons of the world, and spent time manipulating them and taking positions of power in clans, many unknown to the other members of their host-homes.

The Faeries swarmed in such numbers that a band of Faerie hunters led by a Half-Faerie rose up, consisting of twin sisters, their neice and their Half-Faerie leader. They hunted and eliminated many False Deities before one of the sisters succumbed to Madness from becoming afflicted with becoming a Changed Faerie due to it being induced by a Half-Faerie- their own leader in fact. She killed the troupe and was slain herself by Bampti and Balatma when she attempted to make a target of Valhalla, a peaceful False Deity for whom she blamed the onslaught of swarms upon.

Faeries settled into the world better when the veil was closed by Badar and Torere, at the cost of their lives. The population present is unsure, and many travel among clans with their trueselves hidden, but many Imperials claim the blood and are able to pass it on with few complications. The Flock was extinguished mysteriously when the veil closed, leading many to speculate they were at fault for the rift in the first place.
