Biography
Seraph Voltspire Wildclove
Seraph was born in the Shifting Expanse under the Tempest Spire. Her parents left her shortly after she was born but she stayed with the clan she was born in. The clan was glad to raise her and teach her about their technology and about the Stormcatcher.
She grew up around very science-oriented dragons, as well as artificial and android dragons. Because of this, she wasn't very used to any territory outside of the Shifting Expanse- in fact, she wasn't even aware that there were other flights until she was an adolescent.
Her caretaker in her youth was called H.U.P 1.0 (or Hatchling Upbringing Program): an android dragon created by the leaders of her clan. Hup was the dragon that taught Seraph everything she knows about creating and inventing. They were also programmed to speak the native coatl language- which Seraph mainly speaks to this day.
Hup would also take Seraph on trips to other notable places in the Shifting Expanse, teaching her about their history. Seraph was specifically interested in the land that led into the Ashfall Waste from their territory. Hup explained that her interest was peaked because that is where her breed originates.
Seraph was very happy in her young life until one day: her clan’s leader decided that he wanted to ‘upgrade’ his previous inventions— Hup included. Without any warning, Hup short-circuited and died to be scrapped for parts. Seraph was horrified at this and left her clan after a heated argument with the leader. With nowhere to go, she began thinking about some of the areas that Hup taught her about when she was young. Remembering the territory between the Shifting Expanse and the Ashfall Waste— she began her journey.
After a long travel, Seraph finally made it to the Ashfall Waste, taking refuge in a clan surrounded by the Molten Scar. Here she met another coatl called Juliet. The two got along really well and Seraph learned that Juliet longed to travel far away from her clan, as she felt smothered with expectations. Her plans were to escape to the Viridian Labyrinth where no one could find her. Juliet then invited Seraph to travel with her to which she accepted.
The night had come for the pair to run away together. They set off, but when they neared the edge of the fire flight’s territory, they were caught by the clan.
Juliet was ordered to stay, while Seraph was banished. The two promised to wait for each other, and Seraph promised to be in the Viridian Labyrinth when Juliet came looking for her.
And so Seraph left, making her way to the Viridian Labyrinth. This is how she found Tunvond's clan. it was still relatively small when she joined so she decided to stay when she was invited. For the longest time she waited for Juliet to find her.
It took some time to get adjusted to the feral nature of the Wildclove Clan- as Seraph wasn't used to any type of natural landscape. There were no buildings, no spires, and no statues (minus a few small totems and shrines). At first she hated her nest: she refused to sleep on a pile of moss and grass until one day Pestilence and Thioh brought her a big reel of copper wire and aqua colored cloth to nest with. Slowly, Seraph began to feel more at home but she still missed the stormy skies and charged air of the Shifting Expanse. However, most of all she missed her love, Juliet.
In the Wildclove Clan, she took a role as a hatchling-sitter- inspired by her late caregiver Hup. Doing this job made her realize that she wanted to have hatchlings of her own. So she asked another clan member she had become close friends with to surrogate. She ended up having a clutch of all coatl dragons like her that she named Lantern, Flint, Century, Lavender, and Zircon. She raised them with care, but they still wanted to leave and fulfill their own destines. Most of them went to serve the Gladekeeper while Flint actually went to serve the Stormcatcher.
After her first clutch left, she decided she wanted to have another. She did the same thing and asked a friend to surrogate. This time she had three guardian males named Vega, Cetus, and Atlas. The three decided to stay with the Wildclove clan, but the oldest- Vega, wanted to travel for a bit before binding his life to his clan in the Viridian Labyrinth. On his travels, Vega actually ended up having eggs of his own. One of his children, Shockwave, was sent to be cared for by Seraph herself. She was thrilled to have her granddaughter to care for.
Just when things couldn't be going better for Seraph, Pestilence showed up with another dragon she found on her peddling route. This dragon just so happened to be Juliet. The pair were overjoyed to be reunited and now they live happily together, raising Shockwave.
Notes:
-none of her children listed after Atlas are canon to her lore
