Biography

Necromancer

Original Lore:

Spirit is not the same as Damianos (the lair's shaman and voice of the Gladekeeper). Being a shadow dragon, his ways of communicating with the spirit realm are not so natural as Damianos's (if it can ever be called natural that is). It's all just a matter of perspective really. Damianos may speak for the gladekeeper, but Spirit speaks for all the lost souls that could not find their way to the spirit realm. These appear as sprites and wisps, but Spirit can see what they really are. These wights don't always want to move on and Spirit respects that. They would still like to be helpful to the living or at least interact and he can help them with that. He is no fool though and has protective measures such as his enchanted candles to help protect him against malicious spirits.

Current Lore (W.I.P):

"The living tell the dying not to leave, and the dying do not listen. The dying tell us not to be sad for them, and we do not listen. The dialogue between the living and the dead is full of misunderstanding and silence."

Spirit considers himself an interpreter. A decipherer of those who vaguely exist on a different plane of existence. Not necessarily a translator, but a link between two opposing phases of life. One could argue this role is similar to that of a shaman, but his method is neither as natural, nor as accepted, among dragonkind.

His means of communication are often non-forthright, so some experimenting is always at play when encountering new apparitions. Wights, a category of undead summoned through a manner of resurrection, are his specialty. Generally because he, himself, summons them. Though he makes it a point to engage with any and all entities willing to approach.

Those without a physical being, such as the Unknown specter, require instruments or vessels to convey their intentions. While not every phantom is inherently malicious, finding a safe way to commune with such existences is harrowing or burdensome at best. He tries to avoid lengthy interactions with spirits of this category, despite the near obsession Unknown seems to have with appearing in the reflective membrane of his wings.
