Mysteriously, he flew into the plateau on a moonless night. The Gemstone clan accepted him in without thinking much about how quiet he was. Xene was appointed as his guide for his first week as she had nothing better to do. As the dark skydancer didn't appear to have a name the clan named him Knight.

Unbeknown to the clan, Knight was not a true dragon but was from the Hive. His one and only mission is to assimilate any dragon he encounters into the Hive. Other clan members were unsettled by his odd movements and his empty stare. Xene noticed this as well but kept up a friendly one sided conversation with him as she showed him around.


After spending a significant amount of time with Xene, Knight began to develop his own thoughts and emotions. He began to seek her out to listen to the various stories she was in the middle of writing. Knight began to talk more but only to Xene. He become conflicted between his inbuilt servitude to the Hive and his new found love for this dragoness.
