A dragon who's connection to reality is tenuous at best and mere conjecture at worst, Codone is a dragon born under mysterious circumstances. All that can truly be said about him is that he wasn't until one day he was, both him and his sister, Nitrus. They can trace their parentage to two odd individuals, Noctil a creature shaped like a dragon and SERPENT the beast of a hive far away.

Born to the world of dreams, Codone was not limited to distance and space as other dragons are. He freely bent the laws of reality in the games he played with his sister, galavanting through dreams without a care for the havoc he left in his wake. His father encouraged his children's explortation of their powers, particularly if that exploration took place in the dreams of their mother. Still, any dragon with children will tell you that there comes a time when your children rush headlong into something they were entirely unprepared for.

So it was with Codone when he rushed head long into the dreams of George, a gentle nocturne residing in the lair. The ensuing chaos caused George to wake with a keening noise that woke every dragon in his vicinity, including his grandmother Morrigan.

A friend of his father's, Codone had never considered Morrigan to be anything more than a fussy old lady. In some ways he was correct, in more important and immediate ways he was quite incorrect. With magic beyond the young pearlcatcher's comprehension, Morrigan pulled him into the tangible world. The world of flesh and blood.

With a sound like a million drums Codone appeared in his father's club. The music from his wings drown out all other sounds and some of the smaller dragons began to bleed from their ears and noses. Some of the quicker dragons rushed to cover Codone's wings and muffle the sound. They stuck whatever they could on it, and after a half hour of frenzied work, Codone simply disappeared again.

Thinking that was the end of it, no one bothered to plan for if there was a next time. But there was a next time, the timing was irregular and on some nights Codone would be in and out quite a few times. Something had to be done.

Inquiries were made, and soon Noctil presented his son with a pair of feathered wings that dampened the noise of his wings to something barely audible. Now that Codone would no longer cause complete mayhem when he appeared, the next task was discovering what caused it. It was no big mystery. Morrigan had tied Codone's appearances to her grandson's sleep. Every time he fell asleep or woke up, or drifted in a transitional state, Codone was tied to the world of the living. A consistent reminder of the consequences of his actions.

Still, Codone was not about to let this minor inconvenience stop him from living a carefree life. He made the best of his time among the dragons of the clan in their waking hours. He could never meet George but he left him letters and to his surprise George always wrote back. The two are firm friends despite never having met truly face to face.

But young and still somewhat naive, Codone let himself be taken in by Lynfa from the market. The bogsneak wooed him with trinkets and promises. Unafraid to be crude when others minced their words, Codone felt it was impossible for her to lie to him. Again, he was wrong.

They nested together, and from it one single egg. Once she had gotten what she wanted Lynfa didn't bother to see Codone again. Her daughter made excuses for her at the shop, until there was no excuses left. Then Cousat merely sniffed and threatened to do something highly unpleasant.

Their son hatched to a mother who hoped for a child that carried his father's powers. Adixeor crawled from his egg completely normal. Well almost. He could talk to his father, even while awake, though a deep bass drone would start to emanate from him. Besides this however, he was completely, utterly normal.

Lynfa couldn't have been more dissapointed but Codone couldn't have been more pleased. There was not a single imperfect scale on Adixeor's tiny frame as far as his father was concerned. Codone made certain to fill his son's nights with delights, to teach him what he might need to be in the world properly.

It was a sad day when Codone's son left the lair, but he still phones his father, and as long as he's not among the awake, Codone will always answer. On the rare occasion he misses a call from his son, he will go and give his child sweet dreams. For the moment it seems the trials of Codone's past are mostly behind him, and he's happy to be with his friends and his family both in the world and out of it.
