Biography
RAMATI
SHE/HER | ARO/ACE
|
A haughty dragon is humbled.
Ramati was born to a mostly-skydancer clan and had an unassuming beginning to her life. It was only when she began going on trips with her family that Ramati began exhibiting some worrying signs. She always wanted to be the center of everything, the talk of whatever event she was at, and she began going to worrying lengths to fulfill this need. Ramati would lie constantly about her past to seem more interesting, pretending to be wealthy nobility or a great scholar, eventually going so far as to use her innate abilities to sense emotions in order to manipulate and captivate the dragons around her. Ramati used her natural charm to take charge of her home clan in the Molten Scar, slowly diffusing her influence and shaping the small clan's culture around her desires. The only two dragons who defied her wishes and protested her control of the clan were her parents, confused and frightened by what their once-kind daughter had become. However, this control came with a price. As she was constantly monitoring the emotions of every member of her clan to stay "in control" of any situation, Ramati slowly became more and more hyperaware of these emotions, always tuned into them to the point where it began to interfere with her mental state. This, plus the paranoia of needing to stay at the center of everything, slowly degraded her stability and sense of self. One day, when speaking with her siblings, she suddenly snapped at one of her brothers over a sudden change in emotions, lunging at him and injuring him so badly that he would later die. This sudden event frightened Ramati, who immediately forced herself into isolation by leaving her shocked and confused clan. She spent decades far away from any living dragon, hiding in remote locations until one day stumbling upon Tephra's secluded clan. When she accidentally met Tephra while out on a walk and became overwhelmed, Tephra introduced her to the idea of taking herbs to lower both her own sensitivity and the emotional intensity of other dragons. Recovering from her exile and nervous breakdown, Ramati has chosen to stay with Tephra's clan for now, taking advantage of its isolated nature and Tephra's knowledge of soothing herbs. She does not fight or mediate for the clan, and will not hunt, as killing live prey disturbs her over-sensitive mind. She keeps her den quite tidy, despite being often unkempt herself, and often busies herself with cleaning and polishing her many treasures and trinkets, as well as taking an extensive inventory of everything she owns; by far, her den is the cleanest in Tephra's clan. She dresses sparsely, talks little, and eats only plants to limit the amount of new sensations she feels. Her current favorite hobby is painting: her work is mostly abstract, and she likes to mess with blocky shapes and clashing colors, but also enjoys the occasional still-life. LIKES: silence, being alone, herbs and plants, cleaning, painting DISLIKES: crowds, talking for too long, too many new sensations, fighting/arguing, hunting, romance, magic, messiness Bio Template: clowncare | Assets: osiem |
