Ana is a gardener. Her plants bloom while others’ wilt, her vines climb to the sky while others’ lay prostrate, her trees grow straight and tall while others’ grow crooked and gnarled. She even (accidentally) got flower blossoms to grow out of her foster mother's fur. Occasionally, in special circumstances, she tends to extremely sick animals as well. Her brother from another mother is Rubus.


Alas, small serpent, you loved the skies but feared the clouds. In the forest dusk, you wind through the blackberry bushes and sing a song of growth; the sparrows come to you, lulled by the sweet poison of your song. But hark; one day, you shall be great, a force so bound in the advent of spring that not even the advance of the rain shall slow you, galloping full-tilt towards the day that the flowers shall bloom again.

The species Anastatica hierochuntica is commonly known as Flower of Mariyam. It is a tumbleweed and a resurrection plant. Since ancient times it was used to predict the weather. In dry weather the plant remains completely closed, but if rain threatens it opens with more or less alacrity according to the speed of the approaching clouds.
