The Archanist's Gaolers
Long ago, after the advent of the Arcanist bringing back the Shade, he knew he had to find someone. Somewhere. That could hold back or fight the remnants hidden on the cliffs and wilds of Starwood strand.
First, he found Hectate.
Dedicated and strong willed, the Arcanist saw first hand her strength and skill with magic and claws. She battled back a shard of the Shade into a cavern in the Southern Icefield without batting an eye.
Unwilling at first, the Arcanist conscripted her to service-Negotiating with the Icewarden to spare some of his greatest warriors to maintain safety on the inland.
And so it was granted, with the promise of returning them should their services no longer be needed. Hectate longs for that day, to laze about in snow and play in icy waters.
But for now. She waits. She guards.
