Biography
It is rare to find a surviving dragon of any kind with dwarfism, that isn’t a child bound to their youthful appearance and mannerisms. Those that expect the same of Storm are met with a vicious tongue and a voice very unbecoming of their size.
Hatching on the waxing of a moon cycle, unlike the rest of his siblings, he didn’t grow any bigger. Distressing to his parents, they tried everything in their power to seek something that would allow their son to grow as the others. Nothing worked. There was no cause or reason for him to remain the size of a hatchling. So growing up, he was coddled and kept safe, watching as his family did their best to adapt the world to him, instead of him adapting to it. As years went by, Storm grew to resent his cautious family and left during a festival.
Travelling with varying groups that had offered to let him see the world, there was a shift in the magic while he visited the south, something unforeseen to any of those who lived in the region.
It was that night that Storm's entire life would change.
When he woke, his head was thick with a fog-like sensation, unsure of his surroundings. Any attempts to raise his head were heavy and unsteady, as if something was weighing it down heavily. Over time he was used to the new found weight, and trudged to a nearby stream of water. It was there he noticed completely why his head was heavier. He was no longer the same form he was the night previous. He had changed in appearance, to something he wasn’t even sure he was.
If anything, Storm was larger in size, but when compared to his company that he was travelling with, he wasn’t any bigger then they were. For all that it was worth, it didn’t matter. He was now larger than what he was previously.
Over time, he had gotten used to the weight of his horns, the shagginess of his coat and while his wings were never large enough for true flight, the size they were now felt right.
As the troupe passed through a canyon, snow falling from the high cliffs above, the tension to abandon the way forward was felt by all. All but Storm as he pushed forward, ignoring the danger and threat of avalanche. His foolishness almost cost his light, as wind began to pick up and furthermore knocked more snow along his path. Something in him drove his movements forward, soon meeting the other side of the canyon, and reaching the expanding sight of the valley ahead. Marvelled by its sight, Storm was interrupted by something suddenly weighing his head down heavier, slamming his face into the snow abruptly.
Coming face to face with a dragon unlike he’d seen before, he stumbled back and showed off his fierceness, looking as imposing as he could in the face of danger. When approached further, he snarled unexpectedly louder than either himself or the dragon opposing him expected.
It was then that the dragon decided that Storm’s life was worth preserving, that even a dragon as small as he was, deserves to fight for his own right.
