The only way the Leviathan can speak or spread its reach over land is through Ramsey, who it cleverly manipulated to do its bidding.


- Once the Leviathan has released him from its control, he’s about as functional as a small child
- He wanders around aimlessly and lost, doesn’t know anything other than his name
- Barry and Rhosyn adopt him even though he’s older than both of them
- They are the most supportive “parents” ever ok, they encourage him to find his own solutions to problems and cheer him on when he does things for himself
- He can’t read or write but Barry reads him things and tries to teach him to read and write butBarry is also busy with hatchlings so he can’t devote all his time to this
- He’s so daMN HAPPY because they literally treat him like he’s their child
- “Pa—Barry, I mean”
- Has a crush on Perec that he doesn’t want to say anything about, but when he finally tells her she’s absolutely flattered
- Perec writes him a love letter and he nearly cries
- Perec teaches him to read and write and they’re just so happy together it’s ridiculous
- His memory isn’t the best but the Concierge family is known for their memory so he’s embarrassed until Faraday makes him a cheat sheet with names and how he knows everyone
- Barry convinces Ramsey to start keeping a diary to help with his terrible memory
- He loves it when Rhosyn takes him to see her family!! mostly because he gets to see Faraday but don’t tell anybody that
- i need to write a short drabble w faraday & ramsey just. sitting quietly in the avairy
