Frozen to Life

The air was freezing cold, blasts of icy wind smacked the sides of the sheer cliffs. From within was a hatchling, small and shivering. He wasn’t meant for the icy realm around him, but he had been told to stay there. Stay, until the ones he knew as family came back for him.

But they weren’t coming back, they had already reached their home, without him.

Soon, the cold claimed the hatchling, and everything was dark, and silent.

Yet, somehow, he awoke again, but shivering no longer. The ice and snow had made its way into his very scales, granting him an immunity to it.

Time would pass, and he would realize that he had been abandoned, but would he care? Perhaps, but either way, he could now venture into all sorts of sub-zero temperatures, now that he was one with the winter.
