Pudding showed up on one of the Observatory's many doorsteps one day squished into a half-broken vat of goo. The Observatory mages by said doorstep never questioned this, simply shrugging before taking in the half-drowned hatchling as yet another scholar. Thus this was how Pudding was raised- brazen, bubbly, and benighted by the trouble stirred in her own wake. Truly an exemplary Shatterspell student to both pride over and groan at.

Pudding cemented herself into combustive spellweaving at an early age. While scrutinising over and refining arcane equations was both frustrating and mind-numbing, the limitless experimentation that came along with it was worth the pain. Wait- no- it wasn't. To compensate, Pudding took to specialising in quick runic spellweaving, where she could activate her drafts with instant gratification instead of having to pair her inventions up with eloquent phrases and components first. But while Pudding has created some fantastic explosions and effects, her eagerness of testing her spells out combined with her habit of never jotting things down has resulted in many rune combinations that were lost and simply could not be replicated again, to the frustration of her supervisors.

Nonetheless, Pudding wanted to prove herself a competent mage by creating her own magnum opus- an explosive spell that would fuel itself by absorbing remnant magic created from its own explosion for a limited time. She knew this spell had to be treated more carefully than usual, in case it was too potent and somehow levelled the entire Observatory. For once, Pudding held back, drafting and redrafting her rune combinations and sending them to her supervisors for approval. But this was a ticking time bomb in itself. Holding Pudding back from physically testing her spells was like trying to separate a famished dog from a juicy steak. It took only one moment of weakness for her to speak the command word.
One moment for her room to erupt into burning magic fallout.
