Personality: A good dragon, a temper that can battle Barathol's own temper. A good parent and an even better sailor since his young years. He tries his best as much as he can.

Ettiene prepped his spear as he peered over the rail of the ship's bow. Around Stonehorn, the hatchlings gathered a safe distance from the edge, waiting for their dad to give them the okay to help. Ettiene watched with a keen eye and an impatient soul as the scaleshard hide of the serpent below reeled past the side, trusting his mate with the whole of his heart to keep their children safe.

Stonehorn had the hatchlings begin getting their claws around the rope that trailed from the spear. They were too weak to truly help, but they would feel as though they part of the team, like they belonged in this family as deeply as he felt they did. He watched as Ettiene lined up his shot before throwing the spear home, trusting his mate as deep as his soul to strike true to his mark.

They'd never had a safe life, but it was a happy one. The ship lurched with the force of the serpent's getaway attempt as the hatchlings cheered their father's hit. As Ettiene dragged the scaled beast back with a storm in his heart, the hatchlings pulled with all their meager might in the firm belief that they dragged the scaled beast as their father did. Stonehorn quickly righting them when they slipped, Ettiene keeping their end of the line slack. They'd never let any harm come to their children. Ettiene ready to cut the line if it became too much, Stonehorn ready to dive in to save his mate. They'd never let any harm come to one another.

The sails fluffed and cracked above in the wind, the whipping sound drowned out by the thrashing of the beast as it was pulled onto the deck. Stonehorn pulled the hatchlings out of its reach while Ettiene slew it before it could do any harm. The hatchlings rushed out, whooping and baying their cheers as they clambered atop it. The ridgebacks stood back watching with as much adoration for the hatchling's excitement as they had love in their hearts for one another.

Ettiene pressed closer at his mate's side as the adrenaline wore off and the soreness of his muscles made itself known. Stonehorn draped a wing over him, supporting his mate as they relaxed into one another's presence. Unconsciously moving as close as they could, their cheeks brushing together as they watched their hatchlings with pride swelling up in them. Feeding the clan and raising their children, nothing felt like work so long as they were together. They loved one another as the wind loved the waves, adored every moment together as the sea adored the shore.

Headcannons: (written by Lotron)

-Unlike his burly husband, Etienne is very small and scrawny, at least for a ridgeback. However, he definitely makes it up with his hot-headiness and attitude. If anything, Etienne fights and argues more often than his dear lover, even though he's often at a disadvantage in size.
-Etienne has been in the sea-faring business for a long time now, coming from a bloodline full of sailors and respected merchants. He always knew that he would continue the legacy, and practiced his skills from a young age, guided by his mother.
-If we were to describe dragons as animals, Etienne would be a snake. Small, yet dangerous and clever, doing whatever it is to survive. He's got a quick witted and sharp mind, capable of creating escape plans right in the nick of time.
-While he adores hatchlings, like Stonehorn, he's s bit more stern with them. raised in a strict family, he believes that discipline is key to a good member of the society. He's not too harsh, however, just doesn't baby them as much as his lover.
-He and his husband love to stargaze together, quietly enjoying each other's company. Etienne is so much smaller than Stonehorn that he can easily fit under his wing, making it his favorite spot in thew world.
