"Run, run, ditto moon"
|
Blossom never believed in perfection. Everything had its flaws, and had their own mistakes. Quite obviously, Blossom is a pessimist, struggling to look on the bright side - unlike his best friend, Rayla, who could only look on the bright side, and saw no wrong. Blossom wasn't against being happy and positive - there was nothing wrong with seeing the beauty in everything. Blossom merely thought that nothing was perfect in this world. Everything had its own rights and wrongs - Blossom just tended to look more on the wrong side.
Blossom had his reasons, as all dragons do. He was born in an adoption hatchery, bred to have the prettiest colors and the shiniest scales. It was all artificial planning that had given him is sleek look and his strange similarity to a water lily. But when you were born in a perfect hatchery, competition to find a new lair to call home was tough. Dragons had the flashier scales, more elegant scale colors, and had rarer patterns than him. Though he was born was a perfect lily, Blossom ironically never felt like one. Because most of everyone was vain in the hatchery, the compliments and narcissistic thoughts about oneself was much too abundant. The only other thing Blossom could do was focus on the wrongs of others. Her? Too selfish. Him? Too cheesy. Them? Too lazy. So when Blossom was finally adopted into a new home, Blossom remained to himself, rarely speaking, and when he did, it was usually to make a sarcastic or witty comment on someone else. Everyone generally disliked the young Imperial. Except one - Rayla, who was a small Guardian Dragon - and his polar opposite. Despite Blossom's cynical attitude and his cold shoulder to her, Rayla never gave up, and was quite impervious to his sly remarks. For some reason, Blossom strangely liked her persistent nature, and her innocence to the world. What was there to dislike? Rayla was kind and pure, and had similar roots as he did. They trusted each other. They were tolerant of each other. They generally liked each other. And perhaps Blossom thought Rayla was just a tiny little bit more likable than other dragons. |
