Wavecrest, born of a special deep-sea clan, lived in one of the closest caves to the Tidelord. The clan was full of dragons colored exactly like the Tidelord. Due to this, the clan shunned any and all outsiders. The seers in his old clan foretold prophecies using the deity's bubbles. However, they could've never foretold Wavecrest's destiny.

One day, a light born spiral showed up. He only shared one color with the Tidelord. His clan was outraged, throwing the hatchling into the dungeon until his fate could be decided. Fascinated by the colorful dragon, Wavecrest asked to be his guard. The clan agreed, allowing Wavecrest to guard the hatchling until the council decided what to do with him. The hatchling introduced himself as Verge. Verge told so many wonderful stories of his old clan. He was a wonderful child, and Wavecrest grew to like him. Alas, the council decided that Verge must be put to death as punishment for wandering into their territory.

Wavecrest simply could not accept this. He grabbed his mother's pearl and trident, along with a cloak and sword for the boy. He wrote a quick note for his family before he slipped away, knowing he could never return to his home.
