He knew not what caused his appearance among the mortals. Though as he stood within the streets of the first city, a voice echoed within his mind; whispering of his mission in the sweetest tone. A bell chimed within him, vibrations he could feel as he looked up to the stars, a sigh pressing past full lips - there was a flicker of feeling through his chest; was it what the mortals called guilt for what he must do? Perhaps not, for he was built to feel nothing but determination.

He shed his mortal appearance with a fluid flick of his wrist, dispersing the magic that bound his wings, all four ruffling and stretching before settling against his back. The bindings at his wrists had rattled, reminding him that he was indeed still chained, a leash of sorts for he was a beast even among his kind.

There were whispers surrounding him, the tone nearly reverent. He tilted his head, gleaming golden gaze falling upon the mortals that seemed to stop and gawk at his features; little did they know that here, here his task would begin. They surely would have fled from him...
