MARRIANNE ♦ THE RED WITCH

Marrianne is proof of a powerful alliance between clans, shadow and nature. Even though she hatched in wind, her knowledge of plants and the natural world cause her to be an excellent botanist. Her old friend, Neres, got her into lots of mischief and pushed her around at times, but sometimes she still misses that fiery little mirror. Nowadays, she finds herself a sort of royalty. She may not be queen, but she is mate to the dashingly handsome and powerful Dmitri, leader of the Black Kingdom. He's given her gifts of expensive silks and lovely crimson and violet paints, and even a few of his own lovely royal purple feathers, of which she adorns her wings. She has a knack for playing cards- maybe its just luck, maybe it's magic, but she has at least a deck everywhere she goes. Dmitri's calm nature and patience and her skill and wit make for many an amicable card game between the two. She notices he's troubled at times, and knows just what to do when he begins to act distant- snuggles of course! Though she's comparatively small, she's quite the cuddler.

The Coven:

Marrianne began to discover her magical abilities when she first came to the shadowed territories. She suspects it was an odd, brilliant red mushroom she ate on her way, somewhere on the Shadow/Nature borders. It was quite tasty, and had a unique cherry berry flavour, but she was unable to find another like it, so she continued on her way. As she began to trot through the slightly creepy forest, she noticed that a marbled red pattern began to form on the surface of her skin. As she made her way into the shady society, she noticed that the inside of her cottage had a soft, velvety glow. Later, when she moved into the castle with Dmitri, he began to give her lovely, expensive crimson silks, and glittering gold jewelry. She began to notice that by thinking about a movement, she could will other dragons to move. She was horrified when she discovered this. It was this horror that compelled her to go to the most famous witch she knew, who had been rumoured to be extremely powerful. Demoxi welcomed her into a small coven, and a fast friendship was formed between the five. Demoxi taught her that it wasn't their minds she was controlling, but the blood within them. Marrianne learned that this power wasn't a horrible, evil thing, but a tool to be used as an advantage from the sidelines of battes. Demoxi warned her, though, that it would be wise to stay away from too large amounts of gold.
