Biography
The moment Nazu was hatched a beam of light rushed up toward the sky, a soft cry followed after. A small crowd of the Queen's, Thesan, attendants gathered around to see the already sparkling hatchling, their eyes lit up as they congratulated the mother on her firstborn. To see the next heir to the throne born was surely a sight they would never forget. For years to come it would be undeniable that Nazu's people adored her, as she became the most decorated princess Ethereal moon had seen. At a very young age she had begun education and combative training to take the throne when it would come time. Everything seemed to be going her way until the rogue plague dragons attacked the elemental hearts. Each elemental heart kept the realm stable and allowed the dragons to live in harmony despite their differences.
The light elemental heart was on display in a shrine aside the palace. While Nazu was returning from a combat session, the Queen saw the sky turn red and heard the panic of nearby dragons, she called to Nazu to fly with her to the shrine to figure out what the commotion was. When they arrived they found the light shrine guardian, Apollo, and a few civilians struggling to hold back the rogue plague dragons. Without a moment's hesitation Thesan told Nazu to get out of there and call in the Ethereal army. She fled from the shrine, heart pounding and wings flapping, as the shock set in. She knew there had been tension between the plague dragons, but she had never seen anything like this before.
When Nazu returned with backup, it was too late, after a direct blow of vile the stone was cracked and began to fill with pestilence. Before it escalated further the Ethereal army captured the remaining plague dragons and took them to the Prism. Without the light heart's purity to protect the dragons the plague began taking over the environment. The contagion seeped into their feathers rapidly and the dragons in the surrounding area including Nazu and her mother became very sick. There was silence as the once glimmering light dragons shine had begun to fade.
"Mutation"
There were months of chaos trying to fix the damage the plague dragons had caused. Every element suffered some loss from the plague's revolt. A quarantine was announced realm wide, and no one was to leave their lairs. The Ethereal sky had never been darker than during these days. Even with the best medics Ethereal had they did not know if it would be enough to save all the sick dragons. Their top priority was focused on curing the royal family, mending the survivors, and repairing the stone. The problem was that in order to repair the stone it required pure light energy. Thankfully the light shrine guardian had managed to make it out relatively unscathed. As soon as he recovered, Apollo worked overtime to repair the stone.
News began to spread from their neighboring element, Shadow, that dragons were surviving the plague by adapting and becoming one with their original element and the plague. In other words, dragons were becoming hybrid and controlling their infection. It affected their appearance and abilities, but at least they would survive. Those who couldn't control the sickness were overtaken by the plague and went mad.
After the first successful transition in Ethereal, the lead healer advised Nazu and her mother to begin the change. Mentally it was no easy task, but she managed to become hybrid, but It changed her forever. Once a shining star of Ethereal, now a mutant horrified at her own reflection. After she had recovered, Nazu hid from her people hoping no one would see what she had become. She wore a veil to cover her face. It took the Queen longer to recover because she could not control the elements since she had been exposed to it for a longer period of time. Even after she mutated, she remained quite sickly.

"Coronation"
Because of the growing concern regarding the Queen's sickly state, the ethereal counsel decided upon holding Nazu's coronation early. It wasn't early by much because she was almost of age to take the throne, but that was not the issue. Nazu felt unprepared to take the throne, and she was overwhelmed with the pressure to take off the mask she had been hiding under. She grew scared of what her people would think when she took the veil off. The bishop enlisted a speech therapist to help prepare for the ceremony. As they worked together her confidence seemed to be returning. When the time finally came, the bishop slowly revealed Nazu's face there was a slight gasp in the crowd. She panicked for a second thinking, "What if they don't accept me.." But it was only a fleeting thought because seconds after her people celebrated and cheered for her being pronounced Queen. At the time Nazu was so young that she didn't understand that embracing what she had become only made her more popular with the Ethereals. She was so caught up in her own struggles that she did not realize her people were also having a difficult time recovering from their transition.
