Medici had always felt she was supposed to be born with a twin, yet alas…she was born alone. No parents, no siblings, no nest to call home. Her pain, her trauma, her gifts that felt like a curse - she had to experience it all alone. “No more.” She told herself. She saw that dragons could shapeshift into other dragons. They could change their colors, their patterns, yet no one could split themselves in two. So she waited. Her intuition said “not yet - just wait.” And she did. She did not change her genes, nor her color, nor her breed for a long, long time…

Then came the day of Abberations! They started crawling out from the pits of Plague - giving everyone a fright. She knew this would be her best chance to split in two with the other who could never leave! She did not hesitate. She threw herself into the pits of corruption - driving her further and further into madness. Her body grew bigger, her head split into two, her tails divided, and changes were occurring. When she rose from the red acid pools, she looked over to her other half. “Sister?” The head began to twitch. Everything was still so blurry, everything hurt so much, but SHE HAD TO KNOW. “Yes, Dear Sister?” Joy! Oh such joy! Medici began rubbing her head against the other with affection - the slime and acid still fresh in their body. Unlike other Abberations, they did not fight nor squabble. Perhaps it was due to the long standing desire of wanting to have another, and each other. They also did not fight for one body. Medici had stood still for so long - watching, waiting, listening. She had no desire to even move without someone to move with her. They had also decided to call the other “Medusa”. For Medusa had multiple heads, and she was blessed with powers that felt like a curse. The same went for the sisters, for which Medici felt her powers were a curse for so long. From that point on, Medusa had most of the visions, and focused most on the power, while Medici focused on herbs and spell work - runes for the magic to flow through. If a vision was powerful enough, it would knock both of them out.

One head is Medici, and the other is Medusa, but they work together as one brain. They call each other “sister” even though they are stuck in the same body. If you ever try to tell them they aren’t sisters, prepare yourself! You’d best be a few feet away when you’ve said so - best to get a running start before they tear you down. Medusa receives the most visions, so when she’s knocked out cold Medici will take over the body and begin the medicines/concoctions.

“Did you think you were the only powerful Seer of this age, little nightshade? Sure, your lineage makes you special - but not that special.”

Baniths teacher, and a friend of Kyem, NAME is a mysterious character. She hates dragons who brag about their abilities, their lineage, and just about everything else there is to boast about. She doesn’t mind the company of others, but beware her picky nature. She chooses her friends wisely - so don’t be too quick to call her friend. You may find yourself victim to many of her “trials”. Besides that, she collects herbs, bottles, bones - anything that could be used for medicine, or spell work. She receives visions all the time - annoyingly so. It was those very same visions that led her to Banith, and to this clan. She had gathered what remained of the little nightshades - at least, those she could get her hands on. Some had no potential, some had already settled down long before she’d found them, but the rest….well, let’s just say the Deities haven’t abandoned her yet. After taking Banith under her wing for a long time (making him her longest student) she had then found others - a young female imperial, along with a young male imperial, born not too far apart. There was also a few little fae children who resembled the Glitch Queen with decent abilities so she took them in too. The last missing puzzle piece is a “friend as old as time”.

NAME is the one to wake up the ancient ones. She is still just a fledgling compared to these dragons who used to walk amongst the Gods; however, that doesn’t mean her vast knowledge is useless. Many smaller, older clans like these have been long since forgotten. To the common dragon, they’re just fossils stuck in time. To Seers like NAME, they’re something much different. They’re dragons that have been stuck in hibernation for hundreds, if not thousands of years. As the world moved on, the techniques to awaken them and the knowledge that they’re asleep have been almost completely forgotten. Even as she awakened them, it was all theory and guess work due to the information from her visions. Yet, now that they are awakening, she knows she is re-creating history…

Even she has to wonder…what do the Gods have in store for these little misfit of dragons? What is her fate should she reside here? Just thinking about it fills her bones with excitement…

Medusa in mythology serves as a symbol of protection and aggression. She has many gifts, some which come as curses. On one website she’s even depicted as: “An evil eye to protect you from the Evil Eye.” I believe that alone fits this dragon very well. An alternate version of Medusa in her own making.
