Beatrice

Beatrice is very, very sick. She won't die any time soon, but she also can't walk, can barely stand, is practically useless on her own.

Or at least that's what her old clan thought, when they found out about the disease. Withered and ill, and ostracized for being a girl besides, Beatrice limped into a nearby cave, desperate for some small dignity in her last living moments.

UnFortunately, the cave was connected to a complex system one flighty, irresponsible dragon was exploring- a wide-eyed (hah) Imperial named Yuma, who would not, no matter what protests, leave Bea to rot.

Yuma dragged Beatrice back to some main cave system, and then to a gently wooded area, all while she floated in and out of consciousness. Beatrice could swear that she explained to Yuma again and again that it was no use, she would never regain the ability to walk, but she just kept going.

Eventually, Beatrice passed out for good. For what she rationally assumed to be, well, the last time she would fall asleep- ever.

But it wasn;t. Beatrice awoke on a bed of moss, with an estimate of 31 pairs of eyes staring back at her. It was maybe the strangest and simultaneously most comforting thing that had ever happened to her, and Beatrice was momentarily soothed. And then a rotting, half-decayed Bogsneak swept into view, and all comfort was lost.

After explaining that yes, you lost the movement in your legs most likely permanently, Ynfry, as she's called, assured Beatrice that she would live. And though Yuma seemed glad, Bea was... well, less excited then someone who was just told they were going to live might usually be. Where would she go? What would she do? She was alive, but at what cost? What if they thought she would be able to walk, and wanted a guard or a favour, and now that she cant repay-

Beatice's thoughts were cut off when Yuma lifted her up and took her to her own rooms in the cave, where she explained that 'she could, though she didn't want to assume or anything, call the clan leader and see if he was alright with Beatrice staying, and they would provide for her if she did stay, and Beatrice isn't the first disabled dragon to come to bright-side, so it really wouldn't be any trouble, and Prairie is really nice, and-'

But Beatrice wasn't listening at that point, because the rushing in her ears drowned it out. She could stay? with no payment, nothing to offer, a sick dragon and she would be accepted here? It was amazing and horrifying and Beatrice was stunned and so, so grateful.

The roaring eventually faded, and Yuma wasn't rambling anymore- because she was right in front of Bea, frowning, asking if she's alright. Because Bea is crying.





Beatrice stays at bright-side, and gets her own rooms, and robot legs to carry her wherever, and she's so, so happy.

She takes up sculpting and enchanting, with Yuma bringing her materials and flirting chatting the days away. Things are good. They're happy.
